Moon.com fees, in plain English

Three fees. No hidden fourth. Here's exactly what Moon charges, when, and what it means for a real bet.

The three Moon fees

fee 01

Opening fee — 1% of your wager

Charged once when you open a bet. Crucially, it's 1% of your wager, not your leveraged exposure. $100 wager = $1 fee, even at 1000×.

fee 02

Rolling fee — every 8 hours

A dynamic holding fee for positions kept open, similar to funding on futures exchanges. Close before the interval and you skip it. Day-trade friendly.

fee 03

Performance fee — min. 10% of profit

Winning bets only. At least 10% of realized profit, already baked into the P&L you see on screen. Losing bets pay nothing to close.

Why "1% of the wager" is the whole story

Futures exchanges charge taker fees on your full leveraged notional — both opening and closing. Moon charges on your stake, once, on open. At high leverage the difference stops being rounding error:

$100,000 exposureMoon ($100 wager @ 1000×)Bybit (taker)Binance (taker)
Cost to open$1.00~$55~$45
Cost to close a loser$0~$55~$45
Round trip on a loss$1.00~$110~$90
Round trip on a win$1 + min. 10% of profit~$110~$90

Exchange figures are standard-tier taker fees on full notional, in and out, from published schedules; subject to change. Moon figures from Moon's official fee documentation. Futures funding can work in your favor when rates are positive; Moon's rolling fee is always a cost. Equal notional is not equal risk — a 1000× wager busts on a ~0.1% adverse move.

A worked example

  • You wager $100 on BTC going up at 100× leverage → exposure $10,000
  • Opening fee: $1 (1% of $100)
  • BTC rises 2% → gross profit ~$200 → performance fee min. $20 → you see ~$180 net in the live P&L before you close
  • Or BTC falls 1% → bet busts → total cost of the punt: $101, never more

The transparency point matters: Moon's displayed P&L is net of everything. What you see on the close button is what lands in your balance.
